In The Next Life by guireish

Format: Commander

Commander: Illuminor Szeras

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This mono-Black reanimator deck is helmed by Illuminor Szeras, who converts sacrificed creatures into black mana, fueling explosive reanimation and drain spells. The primary game plan is to fill the graveyard through self-mill, discard, and opponent graveyard theft, then reanimate high-impact creatures with ETB or death triggers like Kokusho, the Evening Star, Gray Merchant of Asphodel, and Syr Konrad, the Grim. The commander's mana generation enables casting Exsanguinate or activating Bolas's Citadel for a massive drain finish. The deck also packs a dense recursion suite, including Living Death, Rise of the Dark Realms, and Bringer of the Last Gift, to overwhelm opponents with value and life loss.
