Deck overview

This mono-black aristocrats deck harnesses Sephiroth, Fabled SOLDIER to turn creature deaths into steady card advantage and asymmetric life drain. The primary game plan develops early sacrifice fodder and outlets to trigger Sephiroth's transformation into Sephiroth, One-Winged Angel, generating an emblem that permanently punishes any creature dying on the battlefield. The deck leverages high-impact engines such as Yawgmoth, Thran Physician, Bolas's Citadel, and Skullclamp to cycle through the library while whittling down enemy life totals. To close games definitively, the deck executes classic infinite life-drain combos featuring Exquisite Blood paired with Sanguine Bond, Enduring Tenacity, or Marauding Blight-Priest. Supported by mono-black mana doublers like Cabal Coffers and sweeper suites like Toxic Deluge, the deck presents a resilient mid-game clock capable of converting small creature sacrifices into decisive table-wide victories.
