Deck overview

This Rakdos deck leverages Smaug the Impenetrable as a resilient, indestructible engine that converts noncombat self-damage into massive Treasure production. By utilizing efficient burn spells such as Cut Propulsion, Self-Destruct, and Blasphemous Act targeting Smaug, the deck generates double-digit Treasure tokens in a single turn. These tokens trigger aristocrat payoffs like Mirkwood Bats, Marionette Apprentice, and Mayhem Devil to drain the entire table simultaneously. The deck also features an infinite damage combo via Blazing Sunsteel and Brash Taunter, providing a compact alternative win condition. Strong early ramp and cost-reduction artifacts accelerate Smaug into play on Turn 4 or 5, while repeatable board-sweeping enchantments like Pyrohemia keep opposing creature boards clear. The primary vulnerability lies in targeted exile and artifact nullification effects.
