Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black aristocrats and attrition control engine commanded by Braids, Arisen Nightmare. The primary plan deploys cheap recurring fodder in the opening turns using token makers like Bitterblossom, Jadar, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia, and Dreadhorde Invasion, or recursive creatures like Bloodghast and Forsaken Miner. Casting Braids on Turn 3 immediately converts this fodder into card advantage and steady life loss. On Turns 4 and 5, the deck layers oppressive attrition and drain multipliers like Grave Pact, Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, Bloodletter of Aclazotz, and Vein Ripper, dismantling opposing creature boards while eroding life totals. In the late game, big-mana engines like Cabal Coffers, Crypt Ghast, and Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx power decisive finishers such as Torment of Hailfire, Exsanguinate, or reanimated Gray Merchant of Asphodel triggers to eliminate the table.
