Deck overview

This deck is a Selesnya midrange deck commanded by Trostani, Selesnya's Voice that pairs lifegain triggers with the populate mechanic. The core game plan focuses on deploying early ramp to cast Trostani ahead of curve, followed by high-impact token generators such as Crested Sunmare, Phyrexian Processor, and Gruff Triplets. As large creature tokens enter the battlefield, Trostani gains massive amounts of life based on their toughness, fueling payoffs like Archangel of Thune, Nykthos Paragon, and Aetherflux Reservoir. The deck closes out games by overrunning opponents with an army of massive trample creatures or by swarming the sky with Storm Herd. While the deck excels at building wide, high-toughness board states and recovering life buffers, it relies heavily on combat damage and remains susceptible to mass exile sweepers and fast, non-interactive combo strategies.
