Deck overview

This deck is an optimized cEDH mono-black turbo combo list helmed by K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth. The strategy leverages K'rrik's ability to pay 2 life instead of black mana, effectively turning life totals into rapid acceleration. Backed by high-density 0–1 mana acceleration such as Dark Ritual, Lotus Petal, Mana Vault, and Chrome Mox, the deck consistently deploys K'rrik on Turn 1 or Turn 2. From there, single-card enablers like Buried Alive or Entomb set up game-winning reanimation lines involving Necrotic Ooze (mimicking Asmodeus the Archfiend and Skirge Familiar) or Hoarding Broodlord chains using Saw in Half. The deck closes the game on the exact same turn it initiates its combo through infinite drain with Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Chainer, Dementia Master or through Doctor Doom, Unrivaled. While susceptible to targeted graveyard exile and stack-based creature removal, its blistering speed, immense tutor redundancy, and protection pieces like Vexing Bauble make it a potent competitive powerhouse.
