Deck overview

This Rakdos spellslinger deck is commanded by Kuja, Genome Sorcerer // Trance Kuja, Fate Defied, a two-faced commander that rewards casting noncreature spells. The front side creates 0/1 black Wizard tokens that ping each opponent each time you cast a noncreature spell. Once you control four or more Wizards, he transforms into Trance Kuja, which doubles all damage dealt by Wizards you control. The deck is built around a dense package of cheap instants and sorceries-burn spells, rituals, and draw-one-card cantrips-along with a small but impactful Wizard creature suite (Coruscation Mage, Black Waltz No. 3, The Destined Black Mage, Gandalf, Goblins' Bane) that also trigger on noncreature spells. The primary win condition is incremental pinging amplified by the commander's doubling, supplemented by direct damage spells like Flame Rift and Boltwave. Recursion engines Underworld Breach and Past in Flames allow the deck to chain multiple spells in a single explosive turn.
