Deck overview

This mono-black deck is built around Loot, the Anomaly, exploiting the commander's unique ability to deal combat damage equal to the absolute value of his negative power. The strategy pairs high-toughness equipment and power-reducing auras with unblockable tools to eliminate opponents with lethal 21-commander-damage attacks. Supported by a sacrifice subtheme, recursive creatures like Bloodghast and Gravecrawler feed Loot's threshold ability to rapidly reduce his power at instant speed. Parity-breaking artifacts like Ensnaring Bridge and Meekstone stall opposing creature assaults entirely, since Loot's negative power slips underneath attack and untap restrictions. The deck combines explosive single-target combat lethality with resilient mono-black aristocrat value engines.
