The Dark Side by Zane_S

Commander: Chatterfang, Squirrel General

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Chatterfang, Squirrel General leads a Golgari token-combo deck built around turning every token creation into an explosive swarm of Squirrels. The core strategy layers redundant token generators (Squirrel Nest, Scurry Oak, The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl) with force-multiplying enchantments (Doubling Season, Parallel Lives) and sacrifice outlets (Ashnod's Altar, Phyrexian Altar, Warren Soultrader) to produce infinite mana, infinite creatures, or direct-damage wins through Valley Rotcaller or Triumph of the Hordes. The commander's built-in token doubling and flexible removal ability make him a critical engine piece, but the deck contains multiple two-card combos that function entirely without him, providing excellent redundancy. A compact but effective tutor suite (Demonic Tutor, Vampiric Tutor, Worldly Tutor, Grim Tutor, Archdruid's Charm) ensures consistent assembly of the primary win lines, while the high density of token-making spells acts as virtual redundancy. The plan is resilient, fast, and difficult to interact with once the loop begins.
