Deck overview

This deck is a high-powered Rakdos group slug and punisher engine commanded by Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls. The strategy focuses on establishing cheap, persistent life-loss permanents on early turns—such as Roiling Vortex, Razorkin Needlehead, and Eidolon of the Great Revel—before casting Valgavoth on turn 3 or 4. Once assembled, Valgavoth converts every opponent's turn into +1/+1 counters and fresh cards whenever an opponent loses life for the first time, netting up to three extra cards per turn cycle while growing into a massive airborne threat. The deck converts this steady attrition into a rapid clock through damage doublers like Solphim, Mayhem Dominus and Bloodletter of Aclazotz, wide-spread burn spells like Price of Progress and Chandra's Ignition, or the two-card infinite combo of Bloodchief Ascension and Mindcrank. Defended by free interaction like Deflecting Swat and Deadly Rollick, the deck chokes opposing resources while overwhelming the table with unyielding burn.
