Commander: Queen Marchesa

Deck overview

This is a Mardu monarchy-control deck built around Queen Marchesa and the monarch mechanic. The core plan is to become the monarch early, protect the crown with pillowfort pieces and combat-redirection tricks, then convert the extra cards into a steadily growing token army. Assemble the Legion, Court of Grace, Elspeth, Sun's Champion, and Grave Titan generate the board, while Cathars' Crusade and Divine Visitation turn that board into a lethal, evasive force. The deck has no infinite combos; it wins through grindy value, repeated monarch draws, and a wide combat swing, often after Ruinous Ultimatum clears the way. Marchesa herself is not the finisher - she is the crown-giver and a deathtouch/haste blocker that keeps the monarch plan online.
