Deck overview

This Sultai deck is helmed by Zaxara, the Exemplary, aiming to convert large mana investments into towering boards of Hydra tokens and game-ending {X} spells. Leveraging early land and artifact ramp, the deck casts Zaxara by turn 3 or 4, subsequently weaponizing every {X} spell to double down on board presence. Mid-game turns focus on deploying scaling threats such as Primordial Hydra, Genesis Hydra, and Neverwinter Hydra, supported by counter amplifiers like Corpsejack Menace and Unbound Flourishing. Evasion enablers like Garruk's Uprising and Open into Wonder allow the deck to translate overwhelming power into decisive lethal swings, while massive utility spells like Villainous Wealth and Mass Manipulation disrupt opposing game plans and pull insurmountable card advantage. The list operates comfortably as a high-synergy casual-competitive midrange deck with solid recovery capabilities through high baseline land counts.
