Deck overview

This deck is a Mardu control and Voltron strategy commanded by Kelsien, the Plague. The primary game plan revolves around equipping Kelsien and secondary pingers like Goblin Sharpshooter with cheap deathtouch enablers such as Basilisk Collar and Gorgon's Head. This creates a repeatable, instant-speed creature destruction engine that accumulates experience counters on every kill. As experience counters increase, Kelsien scales into a lethal combat threat with vigilance and haste, while secondary payoffs like Otharri, Suns' Glory and Minthara, Merciless Soul convert the counters into overwhelming board presence. The deck maintains strong creature suppression through asymmetric board wipes like Blasphemous Act paired with Repercussion or Toralf, God of Fury, and bypasses defensive keywords using Shay Cormac and Glaring Spotlight. While virtually uncontested against creature-heavy boards, the deck relies on natural draws for non-Equipment payoffs and has limited interaction against opposing noncreature combos and stack-based wins.
