Deck overview

This Abzan deck pairs Nethroi, Apex of Death with Kaheera, the Orphanguard as a companion to execute a dedicated creature-type mutate and reanimation strategy. Early turns deploy cheap Cats, Elementals, Nightmares, and Beasts that double as mutate hosts and mana accelerators. In the mid-game, mutate triggers from creatures like Auspicious Starrix and Sawtusk Demolisher generate value, control the board, and fill the graveyard. The deck pivots into a decisive finish by casting Nethroi for its mutate cost, mass-reanimating up to 10 power of creatures, including Craterhoof Behemoth, to overwhelm the table with a lethal, trample-fueled combat step.
