Celes, the Persistent Beauty by WestXIX

Format: Commander

Commander: Celes, Rune Knight

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Celes, Rune Knight is a Mardu persist combo deck that wins by looping a persist creature with a free sacrifice outlet and a +1/+1 counter source. Celes is the main counter engine: when a persist creature returns from the graveyard with a -1/-1 counter, her trigger puts a +1/+1 counter on the board, canceling the -1/-1 and allowing infinite sacrifice. Outlets like Blasting Station and Goblin Bombardment turn the loop into infinite damage, Altar of Dementia mills, and Phyrexian/Ashnod's Altar makes infinite mana. Mikaeus, the Unhallowed and Luminous Broodmoth act as hidden commanders, providing undying or flying-counter reanimation that replaces Celes, while Metallic Mimic, Gev, and Thran Vigil offer redundant counters.
