Deck overview

This deck is a high-velocity Gruul Voltron strategy built around Wolverine, Best There Is. It maximizes Wolverine's intrinsic damage-doubling ability by chaining fight spells, +1/+1 counter multipliers, and damage amplifiers. Early turns focus on accelerating mana with low-cost ramp and establishing counter engines like Hardened Scales or Innkeeper's Talent. Once Wolverine enters the battlefield, fight spells serve as double-duty removal that clears opposing blockers while permanently swelling Wolverine's stats via his end-step trigger. The deck transitions quickly into critical onset around Turn 5, threatening one-shot commander eliminations through trample, unblockability, and additional damage doublers like Gratuitous Violence and Fiery Emancipation. While Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar and extra combat spells can eliminate the whole table in a single turn, the standard sequence systematically dismantles opponents over two response cycles. Protective equipment and instant-speed hexproof spells keep Wolverine safe from opposing interaction.
