👹 Cthonian Covenant 👹 by penguino

Format: Commander

Commander: Rakdos, Patron of Chaos

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Rakdos, Patron of Chaos leads a BR midrange/control "goodstuff" pile that wins through overwhelming card advantage, big mana, and a handful of discrete combo lines. The primary plan is to ramp aggressively with fast mana rocks, deploy value demons, and control the table with layered board wipes and hand disruption before closing with an X-spell finisher, flying beatdown, or the artifact-based alternate win. The commander is a grindy end-step engine - opponents must sacrifice two nonland, nontoken permanents or let you draw two cards - which warps the table's resource math every turn. Secondary wins include Torment of Hailfire for lethal, Hellkite Tyrant + Mycosynth Lattice artifact victory, and Electrodominance + Peer into the Abyss burst. The deck is a classic Rakdos control deck: patient, removal-heavy, and built to outlast the table rather than race it.
