Deck overview

This Grixis list is a crime-fueled midrange control deck helmed by Marchesa, Dealer of Death. Her trigger turns every piece of targeted interaction into selection: pay {1} when you commit a crime, keep one of the top two cards, bin the other. The 99 is packed with cheap spells that target opponents, their permanents, or their graveyards-discard, removal, and hate-so the engine stays online from turn one. Crime payoffs such as Gisa, the Hellraiser, Magda, the Hoardmaster, and At Knifepoint convert those same triggers into Zombies, Treasures, and Mercenaries, while Kess, Dissident Mage and Kaervek, the Punisher recast the interaction from the graveyard. The deck wins by attrition: token combat, stolen creatures off Reanimate and Animate Dead, and a late Hullbreaker Horror, not a fast combo kill. Marchesa is a cheap, recastable advantage engine rather than a win condition; the 99 still functions as interactive Grixis control if she is answered, just with far less selection.
