Deck overview

This Grixis deck operates as a Villain tribal midrange engine commanded by Doctor Doom, King of Latveria. The deck leverages the connive mechanic to loot through the library, grow its creature base with +1/+1 counters, and burn opponents whenever land cards are pitched. Early turns focus on establishing mana ramp, low-cost Villains, and token producers such as Madame Hydra and Prowler, Clawed Thief. Once Doctor Doom hits the battlefield on Turn 4, every combat step triggers card filtering and grants menace to push through damage. By Turn 6, the deck transitions into critical threat onset using potent anthem and overrun pieces like The Squadron Sinister and Titania, Proud Pummeler, overwhelming opponents with evasive combat damage and life drain. Robust interaction packages featuring Cyclonic Rift, Opposition Agent, and efficient removal keep opposing strategies in check while Bloodline Bidding ensures resilient recovery against sweepers.
