Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis Amass Midrange strategy built around Sauron, the Dark Lord. The deck accelerates its mana in the early turns using mana rocks and spells like Dark Ritual to cast Sauron on turn 4 or 5. Once Sauron enters the battlefield, his Ward ability protects him while his triggered abilities passively assemble a massive Orc Army whenever opponents cast spells. In combat, connecting with an Army tempts the Ring, enabling Sauron to discard the player's hand and draw four fresh cards each turn. This card churn fuels reanimation spells like Reanimate and fills the graveyard with utility creatures such as Anger and Wonder. The deck closes games by swinging with huge evasive Armies and high-impact finishers like Lord of the Nazgûl, amplified by direct damage from All Will Be One and protected by free defensive countermagic.
