Auntie Ool, Cursewretch by Lethal

Format: Commander

Commander: Auntie Ool, Cursewretch

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Jund deck is built entirely around the -1/-1 counter theme, helmed by Auntie Ool, Cursewretch. The commander turns every -1/-1 counter placed on a creature you control into a card drawn, and her Ward-Blight 2 forces opponents to put -1/-1 counters on their own creatures just to target her - which also triggers her ability. The deck spreads counters with Yawgmoth, Thran Physician, The Scorpion God, Soul Snuffers, Midnight Banshee, Carnifex Demon, and Skinrender, converting them into card advantage, tokens via Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons and Flourishing Defenses, and stolen creatures via Necroskitter and The Reaper, King No More. It locks the board with Kulrath Knight and Everlasting Torment, then closes with Torment of Hailfire or Exsanguinate X-spells, Tree of Perdition life-swap, or The Meathook Massacre drain. A midrange value engine that grinds opponents out before finishing with a big spell.
