Deck overview

This deck is a Gruul modified aggro-midrange strategy commanded by Chishiro, the Shattered Blade. The game plan revolves around casting Auras, Equipment, and counter-granting permanents to produce 2/2 menace Spirit tokens and continuously grow the board with +1/+1 counters at every end step. Robust mana acceleration from creatures like Kami of Whispered Hopes, Incubation Druid, and Gyre Sage enables consistent deployment of Chishiro on Turn 3 or 4. By Turn 5, high-impact payoffs such as Kodama of the West Tree, Halana and Alena, Partners, Railway Brawler, and Akki Battle Squad convert accumulated counters into lethal combat damage via trample, menace, and extra combat steps. The deck backs its aggressive beatdown with versatile interaction like Beast Within and Deflecting Swat, while utilizing protective cards like Heroic Intervention and Inspiring Call to survive sweepers, aiming to close the game by Turn 7.
