Deck overview

This deck is a specialized 5-color spellslinger-creature combo deck commanded by Codie, Ravenous Codex with Umori, the Collector as its companion. By satisfying Umori's restriction with 60 creature cards in the 99, the deck exploits modal 'prepare' creatures that carry instant and sorcery spells on their secondary faces. This allows the deck to bypass traditional creature limitations while triggering spellslinger engines like Archmage Emeritus, Storm-Kiln Artist, and Displacer Kitten. The primary win condition revolves around a compact infinite loop: Displacer Kitten blinks Blazing Firesinger // Seething Song on cast to generate infinite red mana, which is then used to blink draw and burn creatures to eliminate all three opponents on Turn 5 in a single turn. While resilient to creature destruction through prepare-based recursion, the deck's companion constraint precludes traditional counterspells and fast artifact mana.
