Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan dual-kindred archetype built around Olag and Miau, New Friends, uniting Cats and Zombies to form a synergistic aggressive engine. The strategy focuses on establishing cheap early creatures and mana ramp, resolving the commander on Turn 3, and chaining token creators that trigger cross-type +1/+1 counters. As the board widens, the deck exerts multi-angle pressure through combat attacks and inevitable end-step life drain scaled to the number of tapped Cats and Zombies. Complementary engines such as Throne of the God-Pharaoh, Cryptolith Rite, and Sovereign Okinec Ahau turn sideways boards into massive life swings. While the deck boasts high internal synergy, efficient removal, and strong recovery through graveyard recursion, its reliance on sustained creature permanents leaves it exposed to sweepers, requiring well-timed protection from Heroic Intervention and Kutzil, Malamet Exemplar to secure a decisive Turn 7 table finish.
