Deck overview

This deck is a Gruul enchantress and combat-control strategy commanded by Kaima, the Fractured Calm. The primary game plan revolves around enchanting opposing creatures with cheap, self-recurring Auras like Rancor, Crown of Flames, and Audacity. At each of your end steps, Kaima goads all enchanted opposing creatures and grows substantially with +1/+1 counters. This forces opponents to attack each other and grind down their life totals while leaving your life total safe and your path clear. The deck backs up this strategy with classic enchantress card draw engines like Setessan Champion and Verduran Enchantress to maintain full hands. As Kaima quickly reaches lethal power, you close out the game through evasive commander damage, board-clearing burst from Chandra's Ignition, or an explosive swing with Insurrection. Strong instant-speed protection like Deflecting Swat and Heroic Intervention safeguards your board during critical combat turns.
