Deck overview

This deck is a 5-color spellslinger deck constructed under the companion restriction of Umori, the Collector, containing 100% creature nonland cards. It utilizes the custom Prepare mechanic, where creatures enter prepared and can cast copies of their attached instant or sorcery spells. Commander Codie, Ravenous Codex doubles every prepared spell cast and can spend {W}{U}{B}{R}{G} to reprepare the entire board simultaneously. Support creatures like Archmage Emeritus, Storm-Kiln Artist, Kykar, Zephyr Awakener, and Vega, the Watcher reward casting spells from outside the hand with massive card draw, Treasure tokens, and flying armies. The deck plays toward an explosive Turn 6 onset where duplicated spells create overwhelming resources, finishing on Turn 8 with token combat or a doubled Stensian Sanguinist // Exsanguinate. While the Umori restriction leaves the deck without traditional noncreature counterspells or sweepers, its card velocity and redundancy provide high resilience.
