Deck overview

Garland, Royal Kidnapper builds a Dimir monarch-theft control game. The primary plan is to make opponents the monarch, steal their best creatures on each monarchy change, buff stolen creatures with +2/+2, and win through combat with your opponent's own threats. The secondary path is a compact Thassa's Oracle + Demonic Consultation combo; tutors and Necropotence assemble it quickly. Garland is an engine that creates both card advantage and theft, but the deck can still win without her via stand-alone theft creatures and the combo. There is no hidden commander; the deck is built around the monarchy trigger and a blink package (Displacer Kitten, Ghostly Flicker) that resets both Garland and theft permanents.
