Deck overview

This deck is an Esper spellslinger control list led by Saruman of Many Colors that focuses on library depletion as its primary path to victory. Early turns focus on smoothing land drops and digging through the library using efficient cantrips like Ponder, Preordain, and Brainstorm, alongside light tax pieces like Blind Obedience and Grand Arbiter Augustin IV. By Turn 5, the deck establishes an engine piece or cost reducer, preparing for a devastating Turn 6 onset with heavy mill sorceries such as kicked Maddening Cacophony or Cut Your Losses. The deck closes out games around Turn 8 by doubling graveyard totals with Riverchurn Monument or attacking with a massive Consuming Aberration. Meanwhile, Saruman of Many Colors generates high card advantage by exiling and casting opponents' best spells whenever you cast two spells in a turn.
