Deck overview

This deck is an Esper Dungeon Reanimator strategy commanded by Sefris of the Hidden Ways. It pairs dungeon venturing and the initiative mechanic with graveyard reanimation. The deck uses looters, entomb effects, and cycle creatures to discard high-impact threats while triggering Sefris once each turn. Progressing through dungeons like the Lost Mine of Phandelver and the Undercity fixes mana, creates tokens, and completes dungeons to trigger Sefris's Create Undead ability. This brings back massive threats such as Archon of Cruelty, Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur, and Serra's Emissary turns ahead of schedule. An efficient interaction suite with counterspells like Fierce Guardianship and flexible exile spells like Void Rend protects the board and answers opposing threats. Once large creatures enter the battlefield, the deck closes the game through evasive combat, continuous edict effects, and unblockable dungeon-empowered attacks.
