Deck overview

This Golgari deck pairs a dense suite of deathtouch creatures with fight and bite spells to establish dominant board control. Its commander, The Serpent Society, protects itself with a severe Ward trigger that gives targeting opponents five poison counters. Whenever a deathtouch creature dies in combat, through a fight spell, or via sacrifice outlets, the commander forces each opponent to sacrifice a nontoken creature. This creates an asymmetric attrition engine that strips opposing battlefields clean. The deck converts this board dominance into victory through compounding combat threats such as Aveline de Grandpré, the life-halving ability of Radioactive Man, the destructive Chapter IV token of The Coming of Galactus, and passive life drain from Poison-Tip Archer and Cauldron of Essence.
