Deck overview

This mono-black aristocrats deck is commanded by Ayara, First of Locthwain, leveraging creature death and entry triggers to steadily drain opponents while refueling your hand. The game plan focuses on deploying resilient token generators such as Ophiomancer and Jadar, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia, alongside recurring creatures like Reassembling Skeleton and Bloodghast. Ayara converts these bodies into card draw and life loss, while secondary drain engines like Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Bastion of Remembrance amplify every sacrifice. Heavy mid-game swings come from devotion anchors like Gray Merchant of Asphodel and token swarms from Abhorrent Overlord or Army of the Damned. The deck controls creature boards using asymmetric edicts from Witch of the Moors, Butcher of Malakir, and Priest of Forgotten Gods, paired with efficient board wipes like Toxic Deluge. While vulnerable to graveyard hate and lacking artifact interaction, its high redundancy ensures steady attrition.
