Deck overview

This deck is an upkeep-focused aggro-control strategy piloted by Obeka, Splitter of Seconds. The primary game plan revolves around casting Obeka on curve, ensuring she connects in combat with evasion or protection, and converting combat damage into multiple consecutive upkeep phases during the postcombat step. Each additional upkeep triggers a dense suite of cumulative permanents, including the powerful Court cycle, the initiative dungeon rooms, and potent engines like Bonehoard Dracosaur and Twilight Prophet. These rapid triggers systematically strip opposing resources, generate massive token armies, and drain life totals across the entire table. The deck secures victory by compounding these upkeep triggers across one to two combat cycles, rendering opponent responses ineffective through rapid hand attrition and lethal drain. While dependent on the commander connecting in combat, the deck provides strong functional redundancy in evasion equipment and high-impact standalone threats that maintain pressure even through removal.
