Big dudes making mana by tugboat

Format: Commander

Commander: Halana, Kessig Ranger and Alena, Kessig Trapper

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Gruul "power-matters" Partner deck helmed by Halana, Kessig Ranger and Alena, Kessig Trapper. The primary game plan is to ramp into large creatures, use Alena to convert their power into red mana, and chain extra combat steps via Aggravated Assault for an infinite-combat kill. Halana, Kessig Ranger provides on-board removal by fighting on ETB triggers, clearing blockers or threatening creatures. The deck also leverages a secondary combat axis with Anzrag, the Quake-Mole and value engines like Etali, Primal Storm and Warstorm Surge. Wins come from either the infinite combat loop (Alena + a 5+-power creature + Aggravated Assault) or overwhelming trample damage from threats like Ghalta, Primal Hunger and Terastodon. The deck is straightforward: accelerate, deploy fatties, create mana loops, and smash.
