Commander: Hakbal of the Surging Soul

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Hakbal of the Surging Soul commands an aggressive Simic Merfolk tribal deck that converts explore triggers into rapid mana acceleration, hand sculpting, and board-wide stat buffs. Hakbal triggers every combat, letting each Merfolk explore to sift through the library, hit land drops, and grow with plus one plus one counters. The deck translates this wide presence into lethal combat damage using evasion enablers like Master of the Pearl Trident, Skatewing Spy, and Zegana, Utopian Speaker, alongside asymmetric clears such as Wave Goodbye. An alternate non-combat win condition is available through Simic Ascendancy once enough counters accumulate.
