Deck overview

This deck is an Esper token-control and aristocrats strategy commanded by Marneus Calgar. The primary game plan revolves around generating a steady stream of tokens across all players' turns, transforming every token into immediate card advantage through Marneus's triggered ability. In the early game, the deck establishes mana velocity using efficient mana rocks and low-cost token generators like Lotho, Corrupt Shirriff and Black Market Connections. Once Marneus enters on Turn 4 or 5, the engine rapidly draws deep into the library, finding board-controlling permanents like Junk Winder and token multipliers like Mondrak, Glory Dominus and Thalisse, Reverent Medium. The deck closes games around Turn 8 through cumulative life drain from Mirkwood Bats, Nadier's Nightblade, and Psychosis Crawler, supplemented by unblockable or flying token attacks. A robust interaction suite featuring Clever Concealment, Dovin's Veto, and Organic Extinction protects the board while disrupting opposing strategies.
