Format: Commander

Commander: Ashling, the Limitless

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Ashling, the Limitless is not a beatdown commander; she is an evoke engine for a five-color Elemental value deck. The primary plan is to cast Elementals for a discounted {4} evoke cost, trigger their entry/death abilities, and convert each nontoken sacrifice into a hasty token copy. Secondary paths include cascade chains from Maelstrom Wanderer, Maelstrom Nexus, and Flamekin Herald, plus recursion through Horde of Notions-the hidden commander-Muldrotha, the Gravetide, and Haunting Voyage. Sneak Attack and Incandescent Soulstoke cheat additional threats into play. The commander's role is cost reduction and token duplication; the deck wins by assembling huge boards from Avenger of Zendikar, Omnath, Locus of Rage, and Titania, and finishing with Champion of the Path damage or a trampling swing.
