Deck overview

This mono-black deck leverages Citizen V, Helmut Zemo to transform incidental lifegain into a growing army of Villain creatures. By pairing cheap Villain threats with lifegain triggers from cards like Bastion of Remembrance, Doom Reigns Supreme, and Pristine Talisman, the deck places +1/+1 counters across its entire battlefield. Evasion mechanics like menace and unblockability allow these buffed creatures to push through damage while aristocrat effects drain opponents simultaneously. Supportive equipment such as Swiftfoot Boots and Whispersilk Cloak shields key threats from targeted removal, while mass sweepers like Kindred Dominance clear opposing blockers asymmetrically. Graveyard recursion tools including Reanimate, Victimize, and Thunderbolts Conspiracy ensure resilient rebuilds after opposing board wipes, grinding out the table through steady combat pressure and life drain.
