Deck overview

This deck is a classic Gruul big-mana stompy strategy built around partner commanders Gilanra, Caller of Wirewood and Alena, Kessig Trapper. Gilanra accelerates mana and draws cards whenever you cast spells with mana value 6 or greater. Alena converts high-power creatures into bursts of red mana, letting you chain multiple massive threats in a single turn. With 43 lands and a high density of basic landcycling creatures, the deck reliably hits its land drops. Once the commanders are active on Turn 5, it deploys trampling beaters such as Aggressive Mammoth, Ghalta, Primal Hunger, and Hydra Omnivore to overwhelm opponents in combat. While vulnerable to early spot removal and sweepers, the deck maintains steady pressure through raw creature size and redundant card draw engines.
