Format: Commander

Commander: Vaevictis Asmadi, the Dire

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Vaevictis Asmadi, the Dire leads a Jund midrange deck built to force sacrifices and steal the game. The primary plan ramps into Vaevictis, manipulates the top of the library with Sensei's Divining Top, Scroll Rack, and tutor effects, then flips high-value permanents such as It That Betrays, Grave Betrayal, or Tergrid, God of Fright off opponents' libraries. A secondary reanimation package (Animate Dead, Necromancy, Volrath's Stronghold) recovers key pieces, while Korvold, Mayhem Devil, and Mahadi convert sacrifices into cards, damage, and Treasure. The deck also contains two compact infinite-combat win lines: Kiki-Jiki with Zealous Conscripts and Heat Shimmer with Dualcaster Mage. There is no hidden commander; Vaevictis is a powerful engine but not a required combo piece.
