Deck overview

This deck is a Bant +1/+1 counters and creature-driven midrange engine commanded by Helga, Skittish Seer. The primary game plan accelerates Helga onto the battlefield on Turn 2 or 3, then chains creatures with mana value 4 or greater to draw cards, gain life, and grow Helga into a massive mana source. As the board expands, counter doublers like Branching Evolution and Primal Vigor amplify power, while enablers like Abzan Falconer, Badgermole, and Herald of Secret Streams grant decisive evasion. The deck also features a game-ending two-card combo in Cathars' Crusade and Herd Baloth, which generates infinite 4/4 Beast tokens and infinite +1/+1 counters. With protective tools like Ghostway, Shalai, Voice of Plenty, and Duty Beyond Death, the deck safeguards its developing board before closing the game around Turn 7.
