Format: Commander

Commander: Valgavoth, Terror Eater

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Valgavoth, Terror Eater leads a mono-black life-drain control deck that uses big mana and repeated life gain to assemble global drain loops. The primary plan is to land Exquisite Blood alongside Enduring Tenacity or Marauding Blight-Priest, then make any opponent lose 1 life to create an infinite life-loss/gain loop that eliminates every opponent. Secondary paths involve Exsanguinate for X, Bloodletter/Grievous Wound/Wound Reflection one-shot kills, and Valgavoth's 9/9 lifelink body plus graveyard exile to both close games and deny resources. The commander is a powerful finisher and mid-combat source of card advantage, but the deck does not need him to execute its main combo.
