Deck overview

This deck is a specialized Golgari lands and graveyard engine led by Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord. Its primary strategy accelerates land drops and dumps cards into the graveyard through dense self-mill. As the graveyard and land count grow, creatures like Lord of Extinction, Multani, Yavimaya's Avatar, Lumra, Bellow of the Woods, and Greensleeves, Maro-Sorcerer scale to massive power levels. The deck then uses Jarad's activated ability to sacrifice these giant creatures, draining all opponents of their life totals simultaneously in a single unblockable burst. Supported by mass land recursion engines like Aftermath Analyst, World Shaper, and Six, the deck generates enormous card velocity and mana. While vulnerable to targeted graveyard hate and instant-speed creature interaction, its resilient recursion tools and heavy backup combat lines allow it to rebuild quickly and close games decisively around turn 5.
