Deck overview

This deck is a classic Golgari Aristocrats and Reanimator strategy piloted by Meren of Clan Nel Toth. The deck accelerates in the opening turns using self-sacrificing mana creatures like Sakura-Tribe Elder and Diligent Farmhand to ramp while accumulating experience counters. Once Meren enters on Turn 3 or 4, she establishes an engine that returns utility creatures from the graveyard directly to play each end step. The deck controls the board through repeatable sacrifice edicts from Plaguecrafter and targeted destruction from Woodfall Primus and Cankerbloom. Victory is achieved by draining the table with repeated iterations of Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Blood Artist, and Zulaport Cutthroat, supported by high-power combat threats and mass reanimation via Living Death.
