Format: Commander

Commander: Fire Lord Zuko

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a Mardu extra-combat aggro deck built around Fire Lord Zuko as a mana-generating engine and a +1/+1 counter payoff. The primary game plan is to deploy Zuko early, turn him sideways to generate red mana via his Firebending ability, and then chain multiple extra combat spells and creatures to overwhelm opponents with repeated combat damage. The deck leans heavily on "exile and play" impulse effects (Prosper, Tome-Bound, Valakut Exploration, Dragonhawk, Fate's Tempest) to feed the commander's second trigger while providing card selection. The win condition is almost always a lethal string of combats, using cards like Aggravated Assault, Hellkite Charger, Combat Celebrant, and Aurelia, the Warleader to keep attacking. The commander is a powerful enabler but not essential for most lines, as the deck has many independent mana generators and extra combat redundancy.
