Deck overview

This Grixis deck leverages Sauron, the Dark Lord at the helm of a dedicated nine-Nazgûl tribal midrange and reanimator strategy. The game plan focuses on deploying early artifact ramp to cast Sauron by Turn 4, utilizing his passive Ward ability for resilient board presence. Whenever opponents cast spells, Sauron amasses an Orc Army; when an Army deals combat damage or Ring tempt triggers occur, Sauron discards your hand to draw four new cards. This massive card churning rapidly fills the graveyard with threats like Worldgorger Dragon, Razaketh, the Foulblooded, Anger, and Wonder. The deck converts this resource velocity into victory through massive evasive combat damage with scaling deathtouch Wraiths or through an infinite mana and damage loop using Animate Dead and Worldgorger Dragon to repeatedly activate Mount Doom. Strong interaction, creature suppression via Archfiend of Ifnir, and efficient reanimation ensure dominant late-game inevitability.
