Format: Commander

Commander: Gwenom, Remorseless

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a mono-black life-drain deck built around Gwenom, Remorseless, who turns the postcombat main phase into a "pay life instead of mana" top-deck engine while attacking as a deathtouch/lifelink beater. The primary path to victory is the Exquisite Blood loop: pair it with Sanguine Bond, Defiant Bloodlord, or Enduring Tenacity, then make any opponent lose life to create an infinite drain. The deck also supports a classic aristocrats shell with Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, Carrion Feeder, and recursive creatures like Reassembling Skeleton, Nether Traitor, and Bloodsoaked Champion. Doom Whisperer, Professor Onyx, and the black draw suite help set the top of the library for Gwenom and find the combo. The commander is an accelerant and card-advantage engine rather than a combo piece, so the deck can still execute from the 99, but she noticeably speeds up the plan.
