FOR THE EMPEROR by jeph

Format: Commander

Commander: Marneus Calgar

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Marneus Calgar leads an Esper token-combo deck that turns every token into a card. The primary plan is to establish a token doubler (Mondrak or Exalted Sunborn), generate a wide board, and use Marneus's draw trigger to bury opponents in card advantage. The fastest finish is a deterministic loop with Nadir Kraken, Ashnod's Altar, and Mondrak: any token entering starts exponential draws and token creation, ending in a drain from Mirkwood Bats or Elas il-Kor. A secondary Gleaming Splendor/Smothering Tithe engine produces infinite Treasures. There is no hidden commander; Marneus is both the engine and a double-strike finisher.
