Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Rakdos combo-burn engine built around Smaug the Impenetrable. Because Smaug has flying, haste, and indestructible, it serves as both an evasive threat and an explosive mana generator whenever it takes noncombat damage. The strategy accelerates into Smaug using fast mana rocks and rituals, then triggers Smaug using self-damage spells like Cut Propulsion, Blasphemous Act, or Pyrohemia. Dealing 13 to 20 damage to Smaug produces an equivalent quantity of Treasure tokens in a single burst. The deck converts these Treasures into immediate table kills using drain payoffs like Mirkwood Bats and Ingenious Artillerist, large mana sinks like Exsanguinate, or the infinite damage loop of Brash Taunter and Blazing Sunsteel. Strong stack protection such as Not of This World and Shadow the Hedgehog ensures the combo resolves smoothly against opposing interaction.
