Deck overview

This Orzhov deck leverages Amalia Benavides Aguirre as a low-curve exploration engine alongside companion Lurrus of the Dream-Den. Built under the restriction that every permanent card costs 2 or less mana, the list packs high density of soul sisters, self-millers, and aristocrat drainers. Amalia converts lifegain triggers into repeated explores, filtering lands into hand and loading the graveyard with low-cost utility creatures. While individual threats are small, the deck uses higher-cost sorcery mass recursion—including Raise the Past, Return to the Ranks, Storm of Souls, and Command the Dreadhorde—to reanimate dozens of power and redundant drain triggers in a single turn. The resulting board creates lethal drain cascades through Starscape Cleric, Blood Artist, and Elas il-Kor while presenting overwhelming combat pressure.
