Deck overview

An Abzan Food-and-token deck built around the Merry/Pippin partnership. Merry converts each of Pippin's Food tokens into a lifelinking Soldier, while Pippin accumulates Food and eventually serves as a team overrun, giving all other creatures +3/+3 and haste. Food-token multipliers such as Peregrin Took, Academy Manufactor, and token doublers let the deck go extremely wide. Secondary drain effects from Sanguine Bond, Mirkwood Bats, and The Sackville-Bagginses can close games if the combat step stalls. It is a midrange value deck rather than a fast combo shell; it wins through accumulated artifact-token mass and one decisive attack.
